HydroBond® Dust Suppressant

HydroBond® Dust Suppressant is a specialist blend of polymers and proprietary additives. It readily mixes with water and acts as a binder and tackifier for all applications.

HydroBond® can be applied singularly as an effective and economical dust suppressant. It can also be combined with other hydromulching or hydroseeding products, such as tackifiers and fibres.

Designed to penetrate and bind most soil and sand types, HydroBond® may be used with different application rates. These rates can be tailored to achieve your desired penetration depth.

Treated soils form a unique matrix structure, ensuring that the ground remains permeable to air and water.

The properties of HydroBond® allow an increase in water retention and a decrease in the leaching of much-needed nutrients. Thus, it helps in enhancing plant growth and promoting faster seed germination. Ultimately, it makes a revegetation procedure more efficient.

As an added benefit, HydroBond® polymers have been combined with proprietary additives. These additional ingredients ensure superior technical performance. They also achieve biodegradable crusting once applied to the soil.

  • Most effective when applied through hydroseeding equipment
  • Cost-effective and environmentally friendly
  • Can be used with a choice of colour
  • Promotes faster germination with seed protection
  • Applied with or without mulch

How HydroBond® Works

HydroBond® produces a 3D honeycomb matrix throughout the topsoil layer, forming crusting.

Soils treated with HydroBond® form a unique open matrix structure. This new structure ensures that the soil remains permeable to air and water. In turn, it enables the efficient germination of seedlings.

The physical and chemical properties of soils, when treated, facilitate excellent water retention. The treatment, in turn, allows for subsequent water savings.

HydroBond® is conveniently in a liquid form. It can simply be diluted with water and sprayed directly onto the exposed soil surface.

With its application, HydroBond® provides superior dust suppression and erosion control. Since the solution is usually clear in appearance, a green dye can be added to the mix. Doing so will ensure that even and uniform application is achieved.

HydroBond® is exceptionally versatile and easy to handle. It can be applied by utilising conventional spraying equipment, existing site water carts, and tankers.

Common Application Methods

HydroBond® Dust Suppressant can be applied using several different methods. Tools for application may be as simple as a hose or as sophisticated as a fixed-wing plane.

Utilising specialist equipment enables areas over 50,000 square meters to be covered per day. Such advanced application methods can reduce project time and costs significantly. These procedures also help in accelerating the reduction of dust.

Still, the best method for the application of HydroBond® depends on the conditions of the site. One needs to consider several factors before picking the ideal application procedure. These considerations include total land area, slope or steepness, and overall soil quality.

Erizon Application Type Hose

One of the classic methods of applying HydroBond® involves the use of a hose.

With the capacity to reach distances in excess of 250 meters, hoses and pumps can safely cover steep and inaccessible slopes.

The use of hoses is also ideal for delicate and tight spaces. One may apply the HydroBond® solution through extended hose reels. These can reach areas which will otherwise be missed by all the other application methods.

Erizon Application Type Spraybar

Spray Bar

A spray bar provides the perfect solution for HydroBond® applications on flat soil surfaces. That said, it is not practical and not recommended on highly steeped and slopy areas.

You may utilise a spray bar by attaching it to your HydroRig™ equipment. Other alternatives to HydroRigs™ include existing site water carts and tankers. Using these simpler options is likely the most economical way to apply SuppressX®.

Erizon Application Type HydroTruck Cannon

One sophisticated application procedure involves the use of a cannon. More specifically, you need to use hydraulic-truck-mounted cannons.

Such cannons are often utilised to efficiently apply the product from a distance of over 100 meters.

Where required, dual cannons can be utilised to apply the product from both sides of the spray zone simultaneously.

Erizon Application Type Air Tractor

Aerial spraying methods are most effective when applying HydroBond®on vast pieces of land. Usually, we use a fixed-wing plane or a helicopter.

Any of these aerial spreaders are highly effective and capable when you try to target isolated and difficult to reach areas.

Aerial application is also extremely suited to tailings storage facilities (TSF) and ash dams. These are areas in which vehicle access is often limited.
