Ash Dam Aerial Dust Suppression

Project Overview

Erizon undertook dust suppression works to an 18 ha area of ash dam located at Vales Point Power Station.

Works were undertaken over 1 continuous site visit via HydroTruck and Aerial application utilising an agricultural seeder aircraft.

SuppressX was applied @ 800L/ha over a one-day period.

Chosen Solution

This ash dam project required SuppressX, a dust suppression solution specifically designed for non-trafficked areas. Once applied, a protective barrier forms over the substrate eliminating dust lift-off while resistant to wind and rain. The ultra-low concentration ensures maximum dust suppression without changing the overall composition of the substrate beneath.

Works at Vales Point are part of an ongoing dust mitigation program where assessments are made throughout the expected functional longevity period of six months.

To ensure the best outcome, drone mapping images over the lifespan of the product are used in sequence to identify any potential future problems adverse weather may cause. This process makes preventative measures possible rather than reactively treating existing dust risk areas.
