The framework of Vision Zero is built around the elimination of hazards and risks – to allow for ‘zero’ opportunities of a workplace injury or illness. Our Hierarchy of Control Measures provides six steps to removing risks from company processes.
Elimination of hazards and risks provides ‘zero’ chance of workplace injury or illness.
Substitution when elimination is not an option, substitute the threat for a low-level risk approach.
Isolate restrict access to plant and equipment or in the case of a substance, lock away with strict controls.
Engineering Controls create a barrier between personel and the hazard or removal of the operator from the hazard.
Administrative Controls adopt safe practices, training, instruction, and access to information to reduce the potential for harm and or adverse health effects.
PPE Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required when conducting all workplace activities. These are the last line of defence in all control measures.
Process safety is a systematic approach to hazard prevention. A necessary action in maintaining the safe operation of all internal and external processes. We thoroughly believe that all injuries are preventable with the right processes.
We are committed to maintaining employee mine and construction safety compliances. All Erizon personnel are required to hold up-to-date documentation including Safety, Quality and Environmental Management Systems certifications, High-Risk Work licences, drivers licences and White Cards. Additional training and certifications are obtained upon request. These compliances ensure that all employees are aware of the handling and risk control processes.
